Work

I'm a Technical Inspector and systems specialist for 2nd Life Inc. in Richmond, VA. We provide reconditioned systems and devices, controlling e-waste and extending the use stream. We operate within an environmentally-conscious and socially-responsible framework, with a goal to provide superior solutions and enhance the customer's ability to efficiently manage the technology life cycle.

Every day is an opportunity to get hands-on experience with new tech/systems, from smartphones, PCs, servers, networks, and everything in between. It's a supportive environment to expand my knowledge base, while surrounded by a team of positive, motivated people.

volunteering

I volunteer with ReEstablish Richmond, a refugee resettlement organization helping families navigate into new homes. Our clients come from all over the world including the Middle East, Africa, and East Asia. I've had the privilege of meeting and learning from wonderful families to help them start a new chapter in our country.

I'm a strong proponent of fair and equal housing. I volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and have helped on several projects in the Richmond area. It's a pleasure to lend my construction experience to such a worthy organization.

I'm a mental health advocate. I volunteer with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Coastal Virginia raising awareness, combating stigma, and providing Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, and Newport News with no-cost mental health resources including family support/classes, CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) programs for law enforcement, and community youth programs. I volunteer as an IT support technician, social media associate, and the organization's mascot, the NAMI Llama!

Play :)

I'm happiest spending time with my family and friends around the table or bonfire. I enjoy woodworking, running (maybe you've seen me at the Richmond 10k), and watching British television!

I play ice hockey. I learned to play recently, which I've wanted to do since I was a kid glued to the TV. I'll be forever learning, improving, and having fun.

I love games of all sorts and tabletop roleplaying games hold a special place for me. I enjoy the creativity, collaboration, and community the games provide. You can find me at the local comic book stores playing around a crowded table.

I value community, kindness, and persistence. I know personal growth is comparing ourselves yesterday with ourselves today and facing difficult challenges pay dividends.
